По данным полиции, атака началась вечером, в 19:00. Вооруженный мужчина вошел в церковь Сан-Исидро и напал на священника, который получил тяжелые ранения. Его госпитализировали, состояние оценивается как стабильное.
Затем нападавший направился во вторую церковь, Нуэстра-Сеньора-де-ла-Пальма, в пяти минутах ходьбы, куда он вошел и продолжил свою атаку, убив пономаря — человека, который заботится о церкви и ее обслуживании. Пономарь выбежал на улицу, чтобы скрыться, но там нападавший нанес ему смертельные раны.
Местные СМИ сообщают, что еще по меньшей мере три человека получили ранения.
