Сильный лесной пожар в районе французского города Сен-Тропе, популярного среди отдыхающих, привел к гибели двух человек. Об этом сообщает агентство Reuters. Французские СМИ сообщают о 20 пострадавших от отравления дымом.
Около 1100 пожарных, а также самолеты-бомбардировщики борются с пламенем, которое сожгло на своем пути более 7000 гектаров земли и вынудило несколько тысяч человек эвакуироваться из их домов и кемпингов.

Среди эвакуированных есть туристы. В местном департаменте Вар подтвердили факт эвакуации и призвали население не создавать заторы вокруг Сен-Тропе, чтобы не мешать проехать транспорту экстренных служб. В регионе закрыты несколько автомобильных дорог.
Пожарным до сих пор не удалось сдержать огонь, поскольку сильный ветер раздувает пламя по ландшафту. В среду в нескольких местах французской Ривьеры вспыхнули новые пожары.
Вчера вечером президент Франции Эммануэль Макрон, прервав отпуск, прибыл в пострадавший регион.

Пожар начался 16 августа примерно в 100 км от города Тулон на Средиземном море, но уже успел распространиться на более чем 6 тыс. гектаров леса и заросшей кустарником местности.
Представитель пожарных отметил, что огонь «до сих пор очень яростный».
