Лесные пожары уже не первую неделю бушуют в Калифорнии. Огонь уничтожил почти полностью деревушку Индиан-Фоллс на северо-западе американского штата. Сгорели десятки домов и построек. О жертвах не сообщается.
Сильный ветер и засуха осложняют тушение. Кроме того, над местами возгорания из восходящих потоков воздуха формируются грозовые «огненные облака». Есть риск возникновения новых пожаров.
Тяжелая ситуация сохраняется в соседнем Орегоне. Там сгорело около двух тысяч квадратных километров леса. Под контроль удалось взять чуть больше половины площади возгорания. На борьбу с огнём брошены 2200 специалистов.
